Acceptable identification documents must have:
      • A photograph
      • A serial number
      • It must be signed by the person
      • An expiration date
      • A physical description (U.S. Passport does not require a physical description)
      • It must be current or issued within five years.

The following are examples of acceptable identification documents:

    1. An identification card or driver's license issued by the California Department or Motor Vehicles or any other State's DMV or similar office (such as Bureau of Motor Vehicles).

    2. A driver's license issued by a state other than California or by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue driver's licenses.

    3. An identification card issued by any branch of the armed forces of the United States.

    4. A passport issued by the Department of State of the United States. The passport cannot be expired. (U.S. Passport do not require a physical description).

    5. A passport issued by a foreign government which must be stamped by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Stamp of entry cannot be expired. (The USCIS stamp is adequate to meet this requirement).

    6. An inmate identification card issued by the Department of Corrections, if the inmate is in custody (Not an ID bracelet).

    7. An employee identification card issued by an agency or office of the State of California, or by any agency or office of a city, county, or city and county in this state.
